Remembrance Day Services in Glasgow
On Sunday 12th November 2017 a number of Brethren attended the Remembrance day service in George Square, Glasgow where the RWM Alistair Young laid a wreath on behalf of the Lodge at the cenotaph. A good turnout of Brethren were there to see this done for the first time in the Lodge's history.
Since then the Lodge have also attended the Remembrance day service in Glasgow in November in 2018, 2019 and 2021 with RWMs Ian Gunning , Stephen Blanchflower and Douglas Rathey laying wreaths at the cenotaph on behalf of the Lodge on each occasion.
In 2023 some Brethren attended the Remembrance services in Glasgow, Paisley and East Kilbride.
In August 2018 the Lodge along with the Widows Son’s and other Province Lodges laid a wreath at the cenotaph in Paisley as part of the Remembrance of the 100 years since the end of WW11.
Also on 4th November 2018 the RWM Ian Gunning and SPGM Alick Currie attended the Remembrance service at the Grand Lodge of Scotland to commemorate the 100 years since the end of WWII, which included a parade along George Street by the freemasons.
All of the brethren who attended these important events must be congratulated.
